In 2026, we’re taking RONIN charters to international waters. For this special journey, Captain Wardo and Chef Hillary will crew a privately rented vessel for 5 nights and 6 days, sailing November 4–9.

Phuket is a tropical paradise in southern Thailand, set in the crystal-clear waters of the Andaman Sea. it’s known for dramatic limestone karsts rising straight from the sea, emerald lagoons, & some of the most iconic sailing grounds in Southeast Asia.

The beaches in the Exumas are unlike anywhere else — clear turquoise water, soft white sand, and many times we were the only people anywhere in sight. It felt like having our own private islands.

What really made the trip special though was the service and personalities of the crew. Captain Wardo & Chef Hillary were incredibly friendly, patient with the kids, knowledgeable about the islands, & always made sure we were having the best possible time. They somehow struck the perfect balance of being attentive & catering to everything we needed while still making the trip feel relaxed & easy.

This trip was the perfect mix of adventure, relaxation, luxury, & family time, and we will be talking about it for years. If anyone is considering a catamaran trip through the Exumas, do it — and if you can go with Captain Wardo & Chef Hillary, you will have hit the jackpot.

Meet Your Crew

Born and raised around the waters of Seattle, Washington, Wardo learned to handle boats from a young age. His passion for the ocean grew through sailing and powerboating in the Boy Scouts, time spent cruising local waters, and years living in Hawaii, where he developed a deep respect for the sea.

In 2020, his sailing journey expanded in the Bahamas, igniting his love for life on the open ocean. Since earning his captain’s license, Wardo has worked charters in the Florida Keys, completed yacht deliveries along both U.S. coasts, and explored the Bahamas, Virgin Islands, and Grenada. Now, he’s found his home chartering in the Caribbean.

When not at the helm, Wardo enjoys traveling, DJing, camping in his overland truck, creating content for his YouTube channel, and spending time with family. His goal is to offer guests an unforgettable view of life on the water, sharing unique destinations, vibrant cultures, and the spirit of adventure.

Captain Wardo

Raised in the wide-open fields of Nebraska, Hillary feels most at home under the sun and close to nature. Her travels have taken her around the world, but she’s most drawn to the rawness of the jungle, the sea, and the simplicity of island life.

On RONIN, Hillary brings a vibrant, nourishing approach to cooking — focusing on fresh, wholesome ingredients, and simple, non-pretentious meals that balance comfort with vitality. Her goal is to create a space where guests feel safe, cared for, and at home.

Joining RONIN in 2025 was a turning point in her own life, & she’s passionate about creating that same transformative experience for others. Known as the boat’s “vibe setter,” Hillary keeps the atmosphere comfortable & welcoming.

With over a decade of photo and video experience, she’s often behind the camera capturing candid moments, so guests can stay fully present while their memories are preserved.
